Beer of the week: Ballast Point, Dorado

Dorado pours a hazy Amber color with a slight off-white head that dissipates slowly. The aroma brings up strong citrus and pine scents along with a hint of malt followed by a slight alcohol scent. The taste difference from the nose, there is a sharp bitterness up front that stays all the way through. The bitterness is dulled when accompanied by a slight citrus and malt flavor with a warming alcohol at the end. There is a slight carbonation to this one so it is very easy to put back. It is not as hoppy as you would expect considering this is a double IPA. I give Ballast Point’s Dorado 8.8 pints out of 10, drink up!
