This week’s beer was poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip stem glass. Big Cranky pours a translucent orange with a slight white head that fades quickly. The aroma is heavy on the pine and resin but is accompanied nicely by tropical fruits. The taste follows the nose with a piney bite up front over a nice caramel malt background flavor. There is a big fruit flavor on this DIPA, tropical fruits stand out along with some citrus rind. Overall this is one of the sweeter DIPAs that I have tasted. Stony Creek has put out crushable DIPA that masks the hefty 9.5% ABV extremely well. Big Cranky gets a score of 9 pints out of 10, drink up!
