The term hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn needs to be updated slightly. The past five months have been a living nightmare for Matthew Herrick as he has had over 1000 gay men come to his house expecting sex. According to Herrick this is all a big scheme by one of his exes that he met through the Grindr app to get back at him.
The ex has gone on a crazy rampage of epic proportions, posting fake accounts since around October of 2016. He has made such claims on the fake accounts as Herrick was HIV positive. The information about his address is completely accurate and has brought as many as 16 men to his house in a single day. The psychopath of an ex has even gone as far to tell some men to not be deterred if he was resistant at first, that this could just be roleplay that he is into. Because apparently people not being into getting banged is a turn on?
Herrick has finally decided that enough was enough and has filed a lawsuit against the dating app. Grindr is claiming that they have no control on who uses their app or what info that they put on there. The whole case is still young so there is plenty of time for the company and Herrick to settle out of court.
I’m going to call bullshit on Grindr not being able to control the users that it has, there would be so many issues with underage users. I find it hard to believe they don’t have protocol when someone continually harrasses someone on this app. Although, it does seem like a much less significant issue when men send other gay men dick pics. It’s like you already have one AND enjoy sucking on them, getting a dick pic or 2 doesn’t seem like it would be a problem.
This particular case crosses the line and became an issue that could be dangerous for the man being targeted. There is a need for instances like the Herrick case, when it becomes detrimental to someone’s well being actions must be taken. For any women who want to do their ex dirty it seems like Grindr is totally cool with you sending a bunch of potential butt rapists to their place without consent.
