Every week there are just a few games that will end up being better than the rest. Here is a preview of the games that you can’t miss this weekend. The records for our pick em goes as follows. BeerDman 23-12, Pokejon 21-14, Lefty 20-15 and Griff at 16-19.
Seattle Seahawks @ New Orleans Saints, Sunday 1:00 PM:
The Seahawks are coming off an extremely disappointing performance against the Cardinals with a 6-6 tie after both teams missed field goals. The Saints have not been great this year, losing several close games including last week to the Chiefs. The matchup to watch out for in this one is the potent Saints offense (3rd in scoring) against the stingy Seahawks defense (1st in scoring) Will the Seahawks secondary be enough to stop the deep Saints receiving core? Pokejon, Griff and I believe that the Seahawks defense will prevail while Lefty is putting his faith in the Saints to outscore Seattle.
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills, Sunday 1:00 PM:
The Patriots are getting another shot at the Bills and this time they have their QB back. The Bills had been on a roll after losing the first 2 games to start the season until they met the Dolphins new star Ajayi. Now at 4-3, the Bills are second in the AFC East, a division that has been dominated for more than a decade by the team they are facing this week. The matchup to look out for will be the Bills linebackers and secondary against Gronk. Will they be able to slow this beast enough to give their team a shot at the W this weekend? The KBT writers are unanimous in picking the Pats to win in week 8.
Oakland Raiders @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Sunday 1:00 PM:
The Raiders come into week 8 with one of the best records in football at 5-2 while Tampa Bay has a solid 3-3 record after a big win against San Francisco. This should be a shootout with the Raiders offense ranking in the top 10 and their defense in the bottom 10. Winston and Evans have started what looks to be a beautiful relationship already connecting 40 times for 545 yards and 6 touchdowns in 6 games. The Raiders big guy Sean Smith has had trouble with guarding the little speedy wideouts, but will he be able to hold his own against this big possession receiver? Lefty is going with the Bucs to pull out the victory, Pokejon, Griff and myself are going with the Raiders to continue their winning ways.
San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos, Sunday 4:25 PM:
The Broncos were able to stop their 2 game skid with a win last week against the woeful Texans. The Chargers are on a little win streak of their own that started with a win in San Diego against the Broncos. Philip Rivers is having a fantastic year and has been getting a lot of help on the ground from the second year back Gordon. The Broncos have been struggling against the run after losing a few of their key defensive players in the offseason but their pass defense has remained dominant. The matchup to watch out for will be the broncos front seven against Melvin Gordon. Will they be able to stop the back who gashed them for 94 yards just 2 weeks ago? Griff is the lone KBT writer who picked the Chargers with Pokejon, Lefty and myself taking the Broncos.
Green Bay Packers @ Atlanta Falcons, Sunday 4:25 PM:
This is going to be the fantasy football game of the week with 2 offensive juggernauts facing each other. The Packers have not been the same since the deflategate scandal when Rodgers admitted to liking his balls over inflated (hhmmmmmm). Ryan, on the other hand, has looked better than almost any other quarterback this year. Rodgers looked like he may have returned to his old form after throwing for 300 and 3 TDs against the Bears. The Falcons on the other hand have been struggling over the past 2 weeks losing to the Seahawks and the Chargers. The matchup to watch will be Freeman against the Packers stout run defense, will he be able to get something going or will the Falcons be one dimensional in this game? All the KBT writers are picking the Falcons to win, except me. I am going with the Packers.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys, Sunday 8:0 PM:
The Eagles are coming off a dominating performance against the Vikings who were the last undefeated team before Philly got to them. They have been interesting all year as they have played close with poor teams and blown out some of the best teams in the league. Which Eagles team will we see this week? The Cowboys are coming off of their bye with their star receiver back in the lineup, the receiver they were able to go 3 and 0 without. Dez has a history of whooping on the Eagles secondary, including a 3 touchdown game in 2014. The matchup to watch is the Eagles defensive line against the Cowboys offensive line, who will be able to win the battle up front? The KBT writers are unanimous in picking the Cowboys to win it this weekend.
