Waiver Wire Week 14

Ladarius Green (TE PIT 22%) This is the Ladarius Green that Pittsburgh hoped they were getting when they signed him away from the Chargers during the offseason. Between his injuries and starting the year on PUP it has taken some time for Green to hit his stride, but he did just that this week as he finished the game with 6 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. He should become a very solid contributor on a good Steeler offense. At the moment consider him a high upside TE2, but he could quickly become a TE1.

Malcolm Mitchell (WR NE 30%) Really?….Really? I can’t believe I’m saying this, but you should add a Patriots rookie receiver that has the trust of Tom Brady. That has never really been the case (ie. Chad Jackson, Bethel Johnson, Brandon Tate, Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce etc). Over the last 3 games Mitchell has 17 catches, 222 yards and 3 td’s. With Gronk and now Amendola out, look for Mitchell to get consistent looks every week from the greatest ever.

Kenneth Dixon (RB BAL 46%) Dixon is primed for a bigger role in the Baltimore offense. He looked quick and decisive last week as he had 56 yards on only 6 carries. West is still out touching him at the moment, but the split has gotten much closer to 50/50. Look for Dixon to continue to emerge as he could have a solid game going against an inconsistent Patriots defense.

Charles Sims (RB TB 13%) Sims should be activated from the I.R. this week, and assuming that he’s ready to play, he will step right in as the third down back while taking some of Doug Martin’s carries. Let’s be honest, who really trusts Doug Martin to be stay healthy enough to dominate the carries in the Tampa backfield? He is one of the better handcuffs in the league, and he has solid stand alone value.

Dennis Pitta (TE BAL 30%) – Last Sunday’s game against the Dolphins reminded me of a 2013 Dennis Pitta performance. He hauled in 9 of 11 targets for 90 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He has an excellent rapport with Flacco, and the Ravens offense has looked better as of late. If you’re in need of help at TE he might just be worth a shot down the stretch as Flacco’s go to man in the red zone.

Keep an eye on Taylor Gabriel as he had an ok game last week, but has been explosive over the last 4 weeks. Also keep an eye on both Bengal’s receivers. Boyd and Lafell have been solid in the absence of AJ Green.
